This beautiful and elegant 71-storey tower will be a new city landmark, positively contributing to the skyline of Manchester, and as the tallest tower within the cluster, marking the completion of the New Jackson neighbourhood. The tower sits above a 2-storey landscaped podium and a new 3-storey office building is proposed adjacent. The uppermost floor of the tower, Level 70, is dedicated entirely to an impressive public restaurant. The space runs along the full perimeter of the building, offering 360-degree views of Manchester.

The 642 residential apartments provided within the tower will be complemented by extensive private amenities, including lounges, co-working spaces, private dining and meeting rooms, swimming pool, gym, flexible studios and changing facilities. Residents will also have access to a generous external roof terrace at Level 1, reminiscent of a walled garden, with glazed and perforated metal screens defining the edges of the landscape.

The open-plan office building, features a workspace that maximises views in all directions. Level 2 is set-back, creating an inviting and accessible roof terrace on the northern and eastern elevations. Both the podium and office building have a curvaceous design along Great Jackson Street, reflecting the road's inflection, while the tower rises as a pure extrusion with a square footprint, contrasting the podium's free-form design.

The material palette has been designed to complement the emerging context of the Great Jackson Street Strategic Framework area. A selection of glazing, metalwork, and dark grey brick materials, similar to neighbouring developments, has been arranged in a unique way to establish a distinct identity for the development, featuring silver-toned aluminium and dark grey brick.

The tower's main body features a chequerboard pattern with an alternating rhythm of opaque and transparent units, all aligned in a uniform plane to highlight its smooth appearance. Full-height glazing minimises joints, reinforcing the purity of form. Each façade panel is square, mirroring the tower's square plan vertically. The composition of reflective glass and subtly textured metalwork will create a dynamic façade that responds to environmental changes and varies in appearance from different viewpoints.

The residential tower features a striking lantern lantern housing the bulk of the residential amenity areas and the public restaurant as its crowning element, serving as a beacon that marks the site and welcomes those approaching the city from the south. As the building ascends, the density of opaque panels decreases, giving way to larger expanses of glazing framed by a skeletal aluminium super-grid, reminiscent of lighthouse lamp rooms. This design promotes the ‘lighthouse’ concept while providing uninterrupted views across Manchester. The grid proportions match the building's square format but on a grander scale, with each bay spanning double-storey heights and over 6 meters wide.
