Great Jackson Street Plot F represents the exciting next phase of development within the New Jackson neighbourhood, providing 988 residential apartments across two 51-storey towers carefully designed to provide high-quality residential dwellings befitting a city centre location.
Each building will have extensive residents’ amenity space including co-working space, gym, and lounges, along with private underground car and cycle parking and a private residents garden, accessed directly from the ground floor amenity.
The two towers are positioned at opposite ends of the site, creating a central public realm space in between. The provision of almost 1.5 acres of public realm will create an active and vibrant space that will benefit residents of the New Jackson area and the wider community.
The form of each tower is identical, based upon a square plan with chamfered corners. The chamfered corners incrementally decrease and then increase over 5 storeys creating a dynamic vertical movement up the building.
The chamfered corners are fully glazed, creating highly reflective and lighter angular facets, whilst the flat, principle elevations of the towers have been designed in coloured aluminium to provide a visually contrasting surface.
The tower is anchored at its base via pairs of double height tapered columns, located on each of the chamfered corners. These frame a 2-storey podium designed to be visually distinct from the tower overhead. Each podium is then augmented with a private garden space.
A subtle variation in façade colour gives each tower its own distinctive identity. The anodised aluminium for F1 and F2 are light blue and light green respectively, and both colour choices provide a contrast to the darker and more reflective glazing on the tower corners. The light green of F2 also provides legibility to the form when read against the backdrop of Deansgate Square.
