Newcastle University Business School (NUBS) formed Phase 1 of Downing Plaza, a substantial mixed use development with significant areas of new public realm. Accommodation is arranged across nine storeys, with a glazed atrium space allowing natural daylight into lower levels. The set back area across the ground floor adjacent to the main entrance is fully glazed to provide a visual link to the reception area.

Rising gradually to a tapered point facing the city centre, the building features a striking stainless steel and glass façade formed in a rainscreen system using a combination of windows and coloured and textured stainless steel panels configured in a regular arrangement.

Within easy walking distance of the University’s main campus and located at the centre of Newcastle’s business and commercial development, NUBS provides a stunning gateway to Science City, Newcastle’s science education and commercial hub.
