Buckingham Gate is a remarkable address, located close to Buckingham Palace and St James’ Park. Despite the prestigious heritage of the terraces, No’s 18 and 19 exemplified insensitive commercial developments from the post-war period. Our design approach acknowledges the importance of convincing a disparate stakeholder group that high quality contemporary design can repair the street.

As well as complementing the form of the terraces, we propose using natural materials that draw on colours, textures and patterns from the architectural context. The quality of the new façades is echoed in the interior design which matches assiduous attention to detail with beautiful finishes.
